Job Overview: The position is designed to support the Mexican Foreign Ministry in enhancing its capabilities to position Mexico's interests on the international stage. This involves working closely with embassies and consulates in North America to promote economic policies defined by competent authorities. The role includes assisting in linking with public sector entities related to economic, commercial, and investment matters, as well as managing connections with North American public entities in foreign trade. The candidate will also support the operation of an economic training program for representations in North America, collaborating with public institutions. The overarching goal is to strengthen institutional capacities for promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to effectively monitor national and international agreements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support actions of representations in North America to promote economic policies defined by authorities.
Collaborate with embassies and consulates in North America on public entity-related issues.
Assist in linking with public sector entities regarding economic, commercial, and investment matters.
Manage connections with North American public entities in foreign trade through regional representations.
Support the operation of the economic training program for North American representations in conjunction with public institutions.
Evaluate the performance of the contractor at the end of the contract under the direct supervision of the Head of the North America Unit and project coordination.
Required Qualifications: Minimum academic requirements include a high school diploma (Bachillerato) or a completed degree in administration, economics, political science, international relations, public policy, or related fields. While a degree is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates must possess effective communication skills, both oral and written, as well as time management and teamwork organization skills. Proficiency in Office software is required. Desired qualifications include knowledge of international economics, public and private sector development, foreign trade, and/or diplomacy. Experience in developing strategic alliances, commercial networks, international marketing strategies, market research, and related fields is also desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must have at least a high school diploma (Bachillerato) or a completed degree in relevant fields such as administration, economics, political science, international relations, or public policy. A completed degree is preferred but not mandatory. The educational background should align with the responsibilities of the position, emphasizing skills in economic and policy analysis.
Experience: Candidates with a high school diploma must have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, while those with a completed degree are required to have at least 1 year of experience. Relevant experience should be in areas such as foreign trade, private sector development, innovation, and related fields. Experience in international negotiation and inter-institutional linkage is also beneficial.
Languages: Effective communication in Spanish is mandatory, given the location and nature of the work. Additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to North American relations.
