Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is designed to assist the Partnership & Operational Development Referents (RPDO) and the Service Manager in executing their tasks at the geographical desks and the Partnership & Operational Development Service (SPDO). The focus will be primarily on private donors and decentralized French cooperation. The intern will provide support to country offices as a whole. The main objectives of the internship include gaining knowledge about the various programs and areas of expertise of Solidarités International, understanding the humanitarian and geopolitical context of the relevant areas, mastering tools related to the management of different cycles such as grants, projects, partnerships, and financing, and ensuring the flow of information between various stakeholders (desk, headquarters, field).
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will assist the RPDO and the Service Manager with the following tasks: providing support to country offices in managing grants and implementation partnerships, particularly in developing project proposals and reports for donors; assisting with administrative tasks necessary for the management of programs/grants for country offices or the PDO service; ensuring compliance, development, and engagement with donors through the production of documents, formats, or internal capitalization notes, and participating in certain meetings; and facilitating internal coordination among various teams.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should possess a higher education degree (level bac +5) preferably focused on project management and/or humanitarian work, political science, or international relations, with knowledge of issues related to water, food security, or rehabilitation. A genuine interest and motivation for the non-profit and humanitarian sector is essential, along with a willingness to work in the field in the short term. Previous international work experience is appreciated. Candidates should have excellent writing, synthesis, and spelling skills, as well as critical thinking and analytical abilities. Autonomy, rigor, responsiveness, organization, efficiency, versatility, and a strong work ethic are also required. Proficiency in computer applications such as Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, and email (Outlook) is necessary. Fluency in English is mandatory.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a master's degree (bac +5) in fields related to project management, humanitarian studies, political science, or international relations. Knowledge of water-related issues, food security, or rehabilitation is preferred.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have some level of experience, preferably in international settings. While specific years of experience are not mandated, any previous work or internship experience in humanitarian contexts or related fields will be considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not explicitly required.
Additional Notes: The internship is based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), accessible via the Mairie de Clichy metro station. The internship is subject to a mandatory internship agreement. The compensation for the internship is set at €4.70 per hour, calculated pro-rata based on actual hours worked each month (approximately 154 hours per month, equating to 22 days of 7 hours each). Public transport costs will be covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL. Additionally, interns will receive meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day worked, with SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL contributing 60% of the cost.
