Job Overview: The B2C for RR Consultant will work under the guidance of the Corporate Alliances Manager and closely with the B2C for RR Taskforce. The primary function of this role is to develop a comprehensive knowledge product that provides guidance for frontline fundraisers on how to effectively partner with B2C companies. This strategic initiative aims to revitalize partnerships with consumer-facing companies and unlock new streams of sustainable funding. The consultant will be responsible for conducting research, synthesizing information, drafting the guidance document, and coordinating with stakeholders. The role also includes the development of training materials to enhance the knowledge of frontline fundraisers regarding consumer engagement and marketing. The assignment is set to take place from December 2025 to June 2026, with specific deliverables and timelines outlined for each phase of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a detailed guidance note to assist frontline fundraisers in partnering with B2C companies.
Engage stakeholders throughout the process to gather feedback and ensure their input is incorporated into the final guidance document.
Compile, review, and publish the guidance document in a user-friendly format.
Create training modules for Consumer Facing Partnerships and deliver training sessions to frontline fundraisers across UNICEF’s National Committees.
Conduct a concise review of existing materials to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
Draft and submit the structure and proposed approach for the guidance document by specified deadlines.
Facilitate the copy-editing and approval processes leading to the publication of the strategy.
Monitor and evaluate the training's effectiveness and develop a plan for ongoing training needs.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in social science, education, international relations, political science, communications, international development, business administration, or other relevant fields. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in international development, knowledge management, brand development, communications, marketing, high-value fundraising, learning & development, or corporate partnerships is required. Direct experience in communications and marketing, particularly in a commercial setting, is essential. Candidates should have experience working in complex environments with multiple stakeholders and a strong understanding of corporate partnerships. Experience in developing training materials and programs is also required. Proficiency in IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suites, SharePoint, and graphic design software, is highly desired.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as social science, education, international relations, political science, communications, international development, or business administration is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively contribute to the development of guidance materials and training programs.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional experience in areas such as international development, knowledge management, brand development, communications, marketing, high-value fundraising, learning & development, or corporate partnerships. Candidates should have direct experience in communications and marketing, ideally within a commercial context, and must demonstrate a strong understanding of corporate partnerships. Experience in developing training materials and programs is also necessary, along with the ability to work effectively in complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's qualifications.
Additional Notes: The consultant will work remotely/home-based, with the possibility of travel during the assignment as needed, which will be covered separately by UNICEF. The consultant is responsible for arranging their travel and will be reimbursed according to UNICEF's travel policy. All materials developed during the consultancy will remain the copyright of UNICEF. Payment will be made upon satisfactory completion of deliverables, and UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if performance is unsatisfactory. The selected candidate must ensure that they have valid travel and medical insurance, and must also confirm their fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) prior to the assignment.
