Job Overview: The consultant position focuses on producing high-quality video products that enhance UNEP's multimedia outputs, including campaign explainers, event reports, and self-shot stories. The role is essential for amplifying UNEP's global messaging and enhancing its digital presence. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Head of Multimedia and will be involved in various aspects of video production, including voice-over work, on-screen presentation, self-shot video production, and collaboration with the production team. The consultant will also support UNEP's major communications outputs, including events like UNEA-7 and global campaigns such as World Environment Day. Effective video communication is vital for connecting global audiences with environmental progress and challenges, making this role pivotal in UNEP's mission.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Voice Over and Narration: Recording professional voice overs for UNEP’s campaign videos and corporate content, collaborating with producers to ensure clarity and consistency in vocal branding, and supporting multilingual adaptations.
Roving Reporter and On-Screen Presentation: Serving as an on-screen presenter for UNEP video products, conducting interviews with experts and leaders, and preparing field reports.
Self-Shot Video Production: Planning, filming, and editing self-shot videos, mentoring contributors to maintain quality, and supporting remote production workflows.
Collaboration and Editorial Support: Working closely with the production team to integrate various multimedia elements, contributing to creative sessions, and ensuring content aligns with UNEP’s standards.
Event and Campaign Support: Participating in coverage of UNEP events and producing quick-turnaround video pieces for distribution on social media and web platforms.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a diploma in Communications, Journalism, Media Production, or a related field. Additionally, at least three years of experience as a voice-over artist, reporter, or self-shot video producer is essential. Familiarity with remote production workflows, cloud storage tools, and standard video formats is also required. Strong communication, storytelling, and organizational skills are desirable attributes for candidates.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a diploma in Communications, Journalism, Media Production, or a relevant field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the principles of effective communication and media production, which are essential for the role.
