  • The role involves working closely with vulnerable populations, including victims of violence, ex-combatants, migrants, and marginalized communities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Auxiliar de Programas will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
  • Supporting capacity-building processes for WFP staff, partner organizations, and community participants through workshops, technical advice, and field assistance.
  • Monitoring and managing information shared by partners regarding beneficiaries, resources transferred, and reporting of product indicators, ensuring data quality and traceability in collaboration with program assistants.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical and narrative reports required by WFP or donors, contributing to internal reports, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Responding promptly to monitoring findings and feedback requests from communities through established feedback mechanisms.
  • Supporting the implementation of affirmative actions in programs that promote equitable access for women and men to decision-making spaces and food markets, involving communities, associations, local governments, and civil society actors.
  • Coordinating field visit plans and technical missions for early recovery initiatives, ensuring collaboration with partners, communities, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assisting with other program-related tasks as required by supervision, contributing to the achievement of WFP's strategic objectives.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum required qualifications for this position include:
  • Completion of secondary education. A professional degree in agricultural sciences, forestry, aquaculture, environmental sciences, economics, or related fields is desirable. A postgraduate degree in areas related to rural development and/or food security and nutrition is highly valued.
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in rural development or food security and nutrition projects, including diversified production, self-sufficiency, and food marketing. At least one year of specific experience in strengthening agricultural livelihoods with small producers, indigenous communities, Afro-Colombians, or vulnerable populations is required.
  • Experience working in similar roles within humanitarian assistance or development programs will be positively assessed.
  • Field operations experience, preferably in complex contexts, humanitarian assistance, and gender-based violence scenarios.
  • Familiarity with the operational area of the field office is essential.
  • Proficiency in information technology and applications, particularly Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint) and database management.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed their secondary education, with a preference for those holding a professional degree in relevant fields such as agricultural sciences, environmental studies, or economics. A postgraduate qualification in rural development or food security is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's profile for this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience, particularly in projects focused on rural development or food security and nutrition. Candidates should have at least one year of specific experience working with small producers and vulnerable communities, demonstrating their ability to strengthen livelihoods effectively. Experience in humanitarian assistance and operations in challenging environments is also highly regarded, as it indicates the candidate's capability to navigate complex situations and deliver results under pressure.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with local communities. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage, particularly if they are relevant to the communities served by WFP in Colombia.
