Job Overview:
The Operations Officer position at IFC is designed to support the delivery of the organization's program in the Pacific Region. The officer will be stationed in Sydney and will work closely with the Country Manager, Regional Head, and various investment and advisory teams. The role involves a wide range of activities aimed at ensuring the effective implementation of country strategies in the Pacific Island Countries (PICs). The Operations Officer will play a crucial role in supporting knowledge and reporting activities, conducting research, and drafting marketing materials for various stakeholders. This position is integral to strengthening synergies between different IFC divisions and enhancing collaboration across the World Bank Group. The officer will also contribute to strategic planning processes and policy dialogues aimed at creating favorable conditions for private sector investment in the Pacific.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Operations Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including supporting the Pacific Country Manager and Regional Head in implementing strategic planning processes. This includes formalizing country strategies, tracking project progress, and ensuring high-quality country analysis is available for investment and advisory teams. The officer will conduct research, draft marketing materials, and provide insights for business development pitches and high-level meetings. Additionally, the role involves identifying new business opportunities, supporting regional events, and maintaining relationships with key development partners. The officer will also assist in organizing and leading progress reporting and evaluations for partnerships with donor entities, ensuring effective collaboration among various teams within IFC and the broader WBG.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent professional qualification in fields such as Business, Finance, Economics, or International Relations/Development. A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required, ideally within a banking institution or international development organization, with experience in the Pacific region being advantageous. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential. Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong team orientation, along with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of clients and colleagues.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree or equivalent professional qualification in relevant fields such as Business, Finance, Economics, International Relations, or Development. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of the role and the operational context in which IFC operates.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally be in a banking institution, multilateral organization, or international development context. Prior experience working in the Pacific region is considered advantageous, as it provides valuable insights into the specific challenges and opportunities present in that area.

Languages:
