Job Overview: The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation of the 'Helios+: Comprehensive actions for the integration of third-country nationals into the labour market' project in the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. This position requires close collaboration with national and local authorities, as well as experienced partners, to promote the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into Greek society. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising project activities, ensuring quality service delivery, and monitoring project outcomes. The role involves developing methodologies, creating tools and materials, and overseeing their implementation to ensure effective project management. The Project Coordinator will also be expected to represent the project in various meetings and contribute to drafting reports for donors, ensuring that all project activities align with the overall objectives of the IOM.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Coordinator will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Supervising and providing guidance to direct reports, ensuring they are well-equipped to fulfill their roles.
Developing methodologies and creating tools, materials, and standard operating procedures for project implementation.
Monitoring the quality of services and project activities provided by the project team and implementing partners, conducting physical verifications and reporting findings to senior management.
Collaborating with other project components and IOM departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery of project activities.
Coordinating communication with implementing partners and service providers to ensure qualitative service delivery.
Collecting and ensuring the quality of data and means of verification, submitting timely reports to senior management.
Continuously assessing project needs and reporting to senior management for informed decision-making.
Representing the project in relevant meetings and drafting reports for donors.
Performing additional duties as assigned by the National Project Officer or Regional Coordinator.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a combination of knowledge, education, training, experience, and skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. A high school degree with four years of relevant professional experience is required, or a university degree in fields such as psychology, social work, law, sociology, social anthropology, management, business administration, public administration, or education, with a minimum of two years of work experience. A master’s degree in the aforementioned fields will be considered an advantage. Candidates should also demonstrate strong computer literacy in standard software applications and possess a valid driver’s license with at least five years of driving experience, which is an advantage.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or a university degree in relevant fields such as psychology, social work, law, sociology, social anthropology, management, business administration, public administration, or education. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. A master’s degree in these fields is preferred and will be viewed favorably during the selection process.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience if they hold a university degree, or four years of experience if they possess only a high school diploma. Experience in working within a multi-cultural environment is preferred, as the role involves collaboration with diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries. The candidate should also demonstrate a strong understanding of project management principles and practices, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Languages: Fluency in English and Greek, both written and oral, is required for this position. IOM’s official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in any of these languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their language skills as part of the recruitment process.
