Job Overview:
The Asistente Administrativo/a position is crucial for the successful implementation of the project 'Establecimiento de una Economía Circular para un Turismo Sostenible en la Región del Cusco, Perú (2025–2032)'. This role involves supporting the administrative and operational functions of the UNESCO office in Peru, particularly in the cultural sector. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all administrative tasks are executed efficiently and in accordance with UNESCO's policies and procedures. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality services that meet the needs of the project team and stakeholders. The Asistente Administrativo/a will work closely with various teams to facilitate communication and ensure that project objectives are met in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente Administrativo/a will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: preparing and reviewing payment documentation for individuals and organizations in compliance with UNESCO policies; monitoring project commitments and expenditures; preparing detailed cost estimates and financial data for budget analysis; assisting the supervisor with financial status reports using management information systems; providing guidance to project staff on basic administrative procedures; maintaining an organized digital filing system for acquisitions and contracts; drafting purchase orders and contracts; managing procurement processes for goods and services; following up on contracts and purchase orders; and performing any other tasks assigned by the supervisor. The role emphasizes the importance of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to deadlines in all administrative functions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in administration, economics, business engineering, international business, or a related field. They should have a minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in administration, operations, and procurement, as well as experience in financial information analysis and budget management. Proficiency in tools and software that facilitate resource planning and data integration is essential, with knowledge of ERP systems being an advantage. Candidates should also demonstrate conflict management skills, proactivity, and a willingness to learn, along with the ability to work under pressure and handle confidential documents responsibly.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as administration, economics, business engineering, or international business is required. Additional courses in administration, economics, or finance are desirable and may enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of professional experience in administration, operations, and procurement. Candidates should have a proven track record in financial information analysis and budget management, as well as experience in similar roles within international organizations or agencies.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish at a native level is mandatory, while basic to intermediate proficiency in English for reading is also required. Additional language skills may be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
This is a non-staff contract position with a duration of one year, subject to satisfactory performance evaluation. The workweek consists of Monday to Friday, with a minimum of 37.5 hours of work per week. The estimated monthly salary will be paid in local currency. UNESCO will contribute up to 10% to a pension plan and up to 5% for medical insurance, contingent upon proof of enrollment in a relevant pension and/or medical insurance plan. Contract holders are entitled to paid annual leave, sick leave, and other benefits, with annual leave accruing at a rate of 2.5 working days for each month of service completed.
