Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position at UNICEF Gambia is designed to enhance the visibility and social media engagement surrounding the UNICEF @ 60 event, which commemorates six decades of UNICEF's operations in The Gambia. The volunteer will work closely with the Partnerships Manager and the Communications Officer to develop and implement a digital strategy aimed at increasing online presence through various social media platforms. This role involves creating and managing content for the event, including newsletters, social media posts, and infographics, while also monitoring engagement and analytics to assess the effectiveness of the campaigns. The volunteer will play a crucial role in ensuring that the event reaches a wide audience and effectively communicates UNICEF's mission and achievements in the country.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the creation and management of the digital strategy for the UNICEF @ 60 event to enhance online presence through social media channels.
  • Create, edit, and author communications related to the event for the UNICEF Gambia website and major social media accounts.
  • Develop innovative strategies to drive traffic to the UNICEF Gambia website and improve its search engine rankings during the event.
  • Monitor and engage with social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram, to promote the event.
  • Oversee the social media and web-based coverage of the UNICEF @ 60 event, ensuring timely and relevant updates.
  • Analyze the performance of social marketing campaigns, providing insights and lessons learned to improve future initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Online Volunteer position should possess strong digital media skills, including proficiency in social media management and content creation. Familiarity with graphic design tools and analytics platforms is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate creativity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
