Job Overview:
The Grant Manager position is a critical role within the coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team, reporting directly to the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director. The primary responsibility of the Grant Manager is to ensure accountability to donors, which involves managing the mission's reporting and documentation processes. The role is essential in addressing challenges such as time-consuming translations, high staff turnover, limited Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) capacities, and the necessity for regular training and thorough documentation reviews. The Grant Manager will coordinate the development of new proposals for ECHO HIP 2026 and BHA, as well as consolidate reports for ongoing projects. Engaging with donors and partners is a key aspect of the role, alongside launching discussions on partnership strategies with various coordinators. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grant Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Coordinating the development of new project proposals for ECHO HIP 2026 and BHA.
  • Consolidating and preparing reports for ECHO and BHA projects to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Engaging with donors and partners to foster relationships and facilitate collaboration.
  • Coordinating with the HQ focal point to prepare for upcoming audits and ensure proper documentation for BHA projects.
  • Launching discussions with the Country Director and field coordinators regarding partnership strategies and action points for the mission.
  • Providing training and support to staff on proposal writing and reporting requirements.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of donor requirements and ensuring compliance in all reporting activities.
  • Addressing challenges related to staff turnover and limited MEAL capacities by implementing training programs and documentation reviews.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a graduate degree and/or post-graduate degree in Public Health, Project Management, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field. Equivalent field experience in humanitarian contexts may also be considered. Specific skills required include strong proposal and report writing abilities, knowledge of humanitarian donors and their requirements, and training capacities. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and analytical skills, proactivity, autonomy, and a solution-oriented mindset. Experience in the humanitarian sector is essential, with a minimum of 3-4 years in relevant roles and 0-2 years in similar positions.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a graduate or post-graduate degree in relevant fields such as Public Health, Project Management, International Development, or Social Sciences. Candidates with equivalent field experience in humanitarian settings may also be considered, emphasizing the importance of practical knowledge in addition to formal education.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in similar roles. This experience should encompass responsibilities related to grant management, proposal writing, and donor engagement, demonstrating a solid understanding of the challenges and requirements within the humanitarian context.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in French is considered desirable but not essential. The ability to communicate effectively in these languages is crucial for engaging with donors, partners, and local stakeholders.

  • The role is based in Caracas, Venezuela, and involves a salaried position starting from EUR 2310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 700 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a system of alternating work and time off, allowing for breaks every three months, with an additional rest day granted for each month worked. Expatriates are offered a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions include shared guest house accommodation with internet access and various leisure opportunities.
