In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. In doing so, UN Member States took an historic step in accelerating the Organization’s goals on gender equality and the empowerment of women. Job Overview:
The Technology-Facilitated Violence Against Women Consultant will play a crucial role in addressing the measurement gaps related to Technology-Facilitated Violence Against Women (TFVAW). This position involves serving as the primary liaison between various UN Women entities and the Regional Working Group on TFVAW. The consultant will contribute to substantive discussions on measuring TFVAW, coordinate meetings, and engage with regional partners, including experts and communities of practice. The role requires a strong understanding of gender-based violence statistics and the ability to facilitate technical discussions and collaborations aimed at developing standardized measures and indicators for TFVAW. The consultant will report to the Research and Data Specialist at the UN Women Knowledge and Partnerships Centre in the Republic of Korea and will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for several key activities, including: 1) Supporting the establishment and coordination of the Regional Technical Working Group (RTWG) on measuring TFVAW, which involves providing technical inputs for meetings, drafting agendas, and preparing documentation. 2) Providing technical and coordination support for the deliverables of the RTWG, including consolidating national practices on TFVAW data collection and conducting desk reviews to address data gaps. 3) Supporting the Centre's work on TFVAW by developing policy recommendations, contributing to evidence-based policies, and ensuring alignment with global standards. The consultant will also be expected to document proceedings from working group meetings, engage with stakeholders, and produce knowledge products that compile findings and recommendations for standardized measures of TFVAW.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in statistics, research and data analytics, public administration, social sciences, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of five years of work experience in violence against women statistics, including TFVAW, or related quantitative research. Familiarity with international statistical standards and experience in designing data collection instruments for violence against women are required. Experience in managing regional or multi-stakeholder working groups, particularly in inter-agency coordination, is a strong asset. Candidates should also demonstrate stakeholder engagement skills and have experience working in the Asia-Pacific region.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as statistics, research and data analytics, public administration, or social sciences is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. The educational background should provide a strong foundation in quantitative research methodologies and data analysis relevant to gender-based violence.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant work experience, particularly in the field of violence against women statistics and TFVAW. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data collection instruments and familiarity with international statistical standards and ethical guidelines related to violence against women. Experience in managing or supporting regional working groups and engaging with various stakeholders, including government entities and civil society organizations, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the Asia-Pacific region and prior experience with the UN system or international organizations will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, with exceptional communication, diplomacy, and writing skills required. Proficiency in additional languages may be beneficial but is not specified as a requirement.
