Job Overview: The Communications Lead will play a crucial role in leading NRC's communications efforts for the TV-aksjonen 2026, Norway's largest fundraising campaign. This position requires a dynamic individual who will collaborate with various stakeholders, including the TVA Core Group and NRK, to create compelling communications that engage the public before, during, and after the campaign. The role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that encompasses content creation, media engagement, branding, and storytelling. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all communications reflect NRC's mission and values while inspiring public engagement and support for the campaign.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Communications Lead will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: leading NRC's communications work for the TVA campaign, developing and implementing the communications strategy, coordinating with TVA communications leads, planning and executing a media plan, producing educational content for schools, ensuring high-quality communications that adhere to NRC's guidelines, and managing content gathering efforts in collaboration with NRC country offices. Specific tasks include mapping content needs, planning visits for content gathering, ensuring coherence between TVA communications and NRC's overall messaging, and supporting the Director for Public Communications in various tasks related to the campaign.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least 7 years of experience in communications, with a strong background in content creation, editing, and media relations. A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as journalism, public relations, marketing, or communications is required, while a Master's degree is considered an advantage. Proven experience in project management, excellent written and oral communication skills in both Norwegian and English, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as journalism, public relations, marketing, or communications is required for this position. A Master's degree in a related field is advantageous and may enhance a candidate's qualifications for the role.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in communications, particularly in roles that involve content planning and production. Experience in leading communication projects, managing workflows, and collaborating with diverse teams is essential. Candidates should also have a proven track record of developing effective communication products for digital channels and experience in strategic media work.
Languages: Fluency in Norwegian, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position, as effective engagement with local stakeholders is crucial. Proficiency in English is also required, and knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This position is based in Oslo, Norway, and is offered on a 12-month contract basis. The role may require approximately 20% travel. NRC offers a competitive salary based on Grade 9 of its Resident salary scale, along with accompanying terms and conditions.
