Job Overview: The Senior Project Associate (Team Leader) will play a crucial role in the implementation and coordination of the Assisted Voluntary Return & Reintegration (AVRR) program in Turkey. This position requires a proactive approach to managing case workers and ensuring compliance with IOM standards and procedures. The Senior Project Associate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and monitoring of project activities, ensuring that all AVRR beneficiaries receive the necessary support and services. This role involves extensive collaboration with various stakeholders, including governmental authorities, NGOs, and international organizations, to facilitate effective communication and referrals for AVRR beneficiaries. The Senior Project Associate will also be tasked with compiling and analyzing data related to project performance, drafting reports, and providing recommendations for improvements. Additionally, the position requires organizing training sessions and workshops to enhance the capacity of staff and partners involved in the AVRR program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and monitor the work of Project Associates (Case Workers) to ensure compliance with AVRR Standard Operating Procedures (SoP) and IOM standards.
Ensure adherence to referral procedures for migrants in vulnerable situations, particularly potential victims of trafficking and exploitation.
Compile, summarize, analyze, and present information/data on specific project topics, highlighting issues for consideration and formulating recommendations for necessary adjustments.
Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as necessary in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
Act as the focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, liaising with diverse organizational units and external parties.
Draft status reports, identify shortfalls in delivery, and suggest corrective measures.
Prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other documentation.
Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in capacity-building workshops.
Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; maintain files and records. 1
Maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders. 1
Monitor the work of implementing partners and report any non-compliance to the supervisor. 1
Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and concept papers. 1
Provide guidance and training to other staff in the unit and supervise other staff as assigned. 1

Required Qualifications:
School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.
Understanding of social work theory and evidence-based practices.
Knowledge of national protection systems and human rights.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse individuals.
Ability to provide trauma-informed care and maintain confidentiality.
Proven analytical and report writing skills.
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities and international organizations.
Familiarity with case management environments and experience working with vulnerable groups.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a school diploma with six years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, or Law. The educational institution must be accredited and listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience, particularly in project management, case management, or working with vulnerable populations such as migrants and refugees. Experience in humanitarian organizations or multi-cultural settings is advantageous. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with various stakeholders effectively.
Languages: Fluency in Turkish and English is required, both oral and written. Working knowledge of Arabic, Spanish, and French is considered advantageous. Proficiency in these languages will be evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Turkey will be considered.
