Job Overview:
The Senior Program Officer, Global Health - Architecture and Collaboration will play a pivotal role in leading significant components of the foundation's initiatives with key Global Health Institutions (GHIs). This position requires a dual focus on immediate improvements and long-term strategic planning to enhance the global health ecosystem's adaptability to evolving challenges. The officer will engage with major GHIs, including the Global Fund, Gavi, and the Global Financing Facility (GFF), to identify gaps and opportunities for collaboration that can amplify health impacts. The role involves analyzing the interplay between these institutions and developing strategies that align with the foundation's health priorities. The officer will also be responsible for fostering relationships with diverse stakeholders and ensuring effective communication of the foundation's strategies and policy positions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will undertake a variety of tasks, including collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to define strategies and processes that support improvements in global health architecture. Responsibilities include implementing strategic approaches through interactions with donors and influential groups, analyzing trends in global health reform efforts, and maintaining strong relationships with GHIs and governments. The officer will draft essential documents and presentations, manage project planning processes, facilitate meetings and workshops, and oversee performance-based contracts with consultants and grantees. Additionally, the officer will conceptualize and lead partnerships and working groups, participate in initiatives focused on Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and handle other special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in public health, development, international relations, public policy, or a related field, along with progressively senior-level experience in global health. A deep understanding of the governance, strategies, and operational models of GHIs, particularly the Global Fund, Gavi, and GFF, is essential. Experience in developing strategies and theories of change, navigating complex relationships, and managing projects is required. The ability to influence stakeholders constructively, work flexibly in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively in writing and orally is crucial. Candidates should also demonstrate initiative, creativity, and a commitment to high standards of integrity.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in public health, development, international relations, public policy, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized training in these areas may be advantageous, particularly for candidates seeking to demonstrate a deeper understanding of global health issues and strategies.

Experience:
Candidates should have significant experience in global health, particularly in working with GHIs and understanding their governance and operational frameworks. Experience in project management, including managing grants and complex initiatives, is essential. The ability to navigate relationships among various stakeholders, including governmental and non-governmental organizations, is critical. A proven track record of adapting to fast-paced environments and building coalitions is also necessary.

Languages:

Additional Notes:
