Excellent communication skills in English are mandatory, and knowledge of a local language is considered an asset.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree in environmental/climate change studies, development studies, or other related social science fields is required for this position. This educational background is crucial as it provides the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to understand the complexities of climate change and its impacts on children, as well as the socio-economic factors that contribute to vulnerability.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should encompass management and analysis of quantitative data, as well as familiarity with disaster risk management and climate risk management. Candidates should have a proven track record of working on projects related to children's rights and climate change, demonstrating their ability to navigate complex issues and deliver impactful results.

Knowledge of a local language of the duty station is considered an asset, as it can facilitate better engagement with local stakeholders and communities.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is expected to be conducted remotely, with specific tasks requiring collaboration with local stakeholders and government officials. The consultant will need to submit a technical proposal that outlines their understanding of the terms of reference, proposed tasks, deliverables, timeline, and level of effort. A financial proposal detailing costs associated with the consultancy, including daily rates and travel expenses, is also required.
