Job Overview: The SRH Digital Interventions Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing the digital health landscape in the Philippines, particularly in the context of maternal and reproductive health. This position is part of a broader initiative aimed at reducing maternal mortality through the establishment of new healthcare facilities and the integration of digital health solutions. The coordinator will be responsible for providing technical expertise to support the implementation of the PuroKalusugan initiative, which focuses on mobile health services and digital training for health workers. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Department of Health (DOH) and local government units (LGUs), to ensure the effective rollout of digital health strategies that align with national health policies and frameworks. The coordinator will also be involved in data collection and analysis to inform future health interventions, thereby contributing to the overall improvement of health outcomes in the country.
Duties and Responsibilities: The SRH Digital Interventions Coordinator will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Collaborating with the DOH, LGUs, and other partners to implement the Mobile Health Services Strategy, ensuring the integration of digital health components.
Providing technical support and training for health workers involved in the PuroKalusugan initiative.
Supporting data collection and analysis from pilot implementations to inform future strategies for scaling up mobile health services.
Leading capacity-building efforts for Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) through the development and rollout of digital training materials.
Aligning UNFPA's digital health initiatives with other relevant projects to maximize resource utilization and prevent duplication of efforts.
Developing a coordinated action plan for integrated data collection, reporting, and monitoring of digital health impacts.
Leading pre-launch and initial implementation planning for upcoming digital health projects related to sexual and reproductive health.
Identifying opportunities for integrating new telemedicine initiatives within existing health programs and addressing market barriers to telemedicine adoption.
Preparing monthly accomplishment reports detailing target deliverables and achievements, and submitting them for review.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree (Masters level) in public health, health informatics, public management, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree, provided the candidate has at least 2 years of professional experience in designing and implementing digital public health interventions. Desirable qualifications include experience in managing health systems strengthening projects, particularly in maternal and reproductive health programming. Familiarity with the Philippine health system, including DOH policies, the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, and the digital health roadmap is highly advantageous. Strong management, coordination, and communication skills are essential for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced degree in relevant fields such as public health, health informatics, or public management. Candidates with a first-level university degree may also be considered if they have sufficient professional experience in related areas. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of health systems and the implementation of digital health solutions.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the field of digital public health interventions. Experience in managing projects related to health systems strengthening, particularly in maternal and reproductive health, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the Philippine health system and experience working with international organizations and government agencies will be beneficial for the candidate's success in this role.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within UNFPA and for reporting purposes. Knowledge of Filipino or other local languages may be considered an advantage, particularly in enhancing communication with local stakeholders and communities.

The consultant will be required to report to the UNFPA Country Office and SIF project sites, attending regular meetings at the Department of Health.
