Job Overview:
The Data Support Intern position is designed for students or recent graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in data management and support within the humanitarian sector. The intern will work under the supervision of the Data Support Officer and will be involved in various tasks that contribute to the overall mission of the Protection Team at UNRWA's Jordan Field Office. The role includes data collection, technical support, and assisting in monitoring systems to ensure accurate reporting. Interns will also participate in meetings and contribute to the improvement of data quality and accuracy. This internship provides an opportunity to learn about data management practices in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, while also gaining insights into the rights and protection of Palestine refugees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: conducting data collection from Protection staff and relevant units, supporting data collectors to enhance data quality, undertaking quality assurance of collected data, providing technical support for software issues, managing user profiles, assisting in the timely collection of data for reporting requirements, coordinating meetings, and taking minutes when necessary. The intern may also be assigned additional related duties as directed by the supervisor, which will help in developing a comprehensive understanding of data management in a humanitarian context.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or have recently completed a graduate or undergraduate program in Information Technology or a related field. While professional work experience is not mandatory, any prior experience in data management or IT will be considered an advantage. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are essential. Additionally, applicants must have the right to work and reside in Jordan, as this is a local internship opportunity.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree or be enrolled in a graduate program in fields such as Computer Information Systems, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or other related disciplines. This educational background is crucial for understanding the technical aspects of the internship and for effectively contributing to the data management tasks assigned.

Experience:
While no professional work experience is required for this internship, any relevant experience in data management, IT support, or similar fields will be beneficial. The internship is primarily aimed at students or recent graduates who are looking to gain practical experience and enhance their skills in a real-world setting.

Languages:
A strong command of spoken and written English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication within the diverse environment of UNRWA and enhance the intern's ability to engage with various stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This internship is unpaid, and all costs associated with participation, including travel, accommodation, and living expenses, must be covered by the intern or their sponsoring institution. Interns are required to have adequate medical and accident insurance coverage before starting the internship. The internship is expected to last more than three months, and there is no guarantee of employment following the completion of the internship.
