Job Overview: The Content Creator position is crucial for enhancing the visibility and communication efforts of IOM's projects in Tajikistan. This role involves producing high-quality visual and written content that effectively communicates project objectives and showcases results. The Content Creator will support the International Migrants Day campaign, which is a significant annual event aimed at raising awareness about migration issues and celebrating the contributions of migrants. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging content tailored to diverse audiences, managing IOM's social media platforms, and ensuring that all content aligns with IOM's branding and communication guidelines. This position requires creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting tight deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Content Creator will perform a variety of tasks, including: attending and providing photo and video coverage of IOM events and field missions across Tajikistan; producing short videos, reels, and photo stories for social media and outreach platforms; editing and delivering both raw and processed photo and video content within agreed timeframes; managing and regularly updating IOM Tajikistan's official social media pages, ensuring timely and accurate posts; supporting the development of visual content for campaigns and success stories; ensuring all content is gender-sensitive and culturally appropriate; archiving and categorizing visual content; obtaining proper consent and media release forms for individuals featured in materials; and providing dedicated support for the International Migrants Day information campaign, including the creation of tailored content and promotional materials.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or higher degree in design or a related field from an accredited institution, along with at least two years of relevant professional experience. Proven experience in photography, videography, and content creation is essential, and a portfolio showcasing previous work is required. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is considered an asset, as is knowledge of migration, development, or humanitarian topics. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in video and photo editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop, as well as a strong understanding of social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Instagram.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree or higher in design or a similar field from an accredited educational institution. This educational foundation should be complemented by practical experience in content creation, photography, and videography, ensuring that the candidate is well-equipped to fulfill the responsibilities of the role effectively.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a proven track record in photography, videography, and content creation, with a portfolio that demonstrates their skills and experience. Candidates should have at least two years of relevant professional experience, ideally within the context of international organizations or NGOs. Familiarity with migration, development, or humanitarian topics is desirable, as it will enhance the candidate's ability to create relevant and impactful content.
Languages: Fluency in Tajik and Russian is required for this position, as these languages are essential for effective communication within the local context. Proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is subject to funding confirmation, and the appointment will require certification of the candidate's medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and any necessary authorizations from the concerned government. IOM provides coverage against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan for the duration of the consultancy, but does not offer evacuation or medical insurance for non-occupational accidents or illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance and must provide proof of coverage before commencing work.
