Job Overview:
The position of ET Consultant - Investment Analyst within the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Transactions Advisory department at IFC is a critical role that involves providing financial advisory services to client governments. The primary goal of this department is to enhance access to essential infrastructure and social services by facilitating private investments in these sectors. The selected candidate will act as a Lead Transaction Advisor to national and subnational governments, structuring and implementing PPP transactions across various infrastructure sectors, including power, water, transportation, digital services, and waste-to-energy, as well as social sectors like health and education. The role is broad and entails significant responsibilities, including supporting the PPP Hub leader in business development and project implementation, particularly in the Andean Region, Southern Cone, and Panama. The candidate will be expected to develop financial analyses and models, assist in project scoping, and manage project execution, all while working closely with consultants and other IFC departments to ensure successful project outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the ET Consultant - Investment Analyst include, but are not limited to: developing analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis and models to assess the financial feasibility of projects; providing support in the selection of consultants by drafting terms of reference, requests for proposals, and applications for funding; assisting in business development activities such as preparing pitchbooks, proposals, mandates, marketing documents, information memorandums, and roadshows; supporting project scoping to assess the feasibility of potential projects; preparing notes, minutes, presentations, and documentation for internal approval processes and clients; coordinating project implementation with consultants, including preparing their terms of reference, supervising the hiring process, and ensuring quality control of deliverables; collaborating with other IFC departments, including environmental and social, legal, and advisory teams; understanding the World Bank program for assigned countries to identify opportunities for PPPs; performing additional duties as requested by senior team members; and developing the capacity to manage individual tasks with minimal supervision while demonstrating initiative to advance projects.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess 3 to 6 years of relevant experience gained with a leading financial institution, specifically in areas such as PPP transaction advisory, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, privatization advisory, or private equity. A proven track record in developing financial models and strong analytical skills is essential. Experience in infrastructure sectors, along with knowledge of sector trends and legal and regulatory requirements, will be considered advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate teamwork skills and the ability to operate effectively in large, culturally diverse, and geographically dispersed teams. The ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines is also crucial. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Spanish and English are mandatory.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position typically includes a degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees such as an MBA or a master's degree in a relevant discipline may be preferred, as they can provide a deeper understanding of financial analysis and project management principles relevant to the role.

Experience:

Additional Notes:
This position is a local recruitment opportunity with a term duration of one year, which may be renewable at the discretion of the World Bank Group. The selected candidate will be subject to a lifetime maximum ET appointment of three years. It is important to note that if an ET appointment ends before completing a full year, it will still count as a full year toward the lifetime maximum.
