Job Overview:
The Senior Business Intelligence Consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing the UNRWA statistics bulletin by developing a new PowerBI dashboard. This dashboard will present key data related to UNRWA's operations, including statistics on protection, health, education, relief, and social services. The consultant will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Deputy Director of Planning, Senior Statistician, and Senior Systems Analyst, as well as the Digital Impact, Technology and Innovation Department (DITID). The goal is to create a visually appealing and user-friendly dashboard that is maintainable by existing staff and accessible to both internal and external users. The consultant will be responsible for gathering requirements, assessing and preparing data, designing the dashboard, developing it, testing its functionality, and ultimately deploying it for use.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake several key outputs over the course of the project. Initially, they will gather and analyze requirements for the dashboard, confirming the statistics to be included and creating mockup designs. Following this, they will assess and prepare the data, ensuring its quality and structure, and determine the ETL process for data loading. The consultant will then design the dashboard, proposing the types of maps and technologies to be used, and develop the main dashboard interface with filtering capabilities. After development, the dashboard will undergo rigorous testing to validate its features and data integrity. Finally, the consultant will deploy the dashboard, provide user and technical guides, and conduct training sessions for key users and administrators.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited institution in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. They should have at least six years of progressive experience as a senior Business Intelligence developer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on SSAS, SSIS, ETLs, Cubes, Power BI, DAX, and MDX. Proven experience in developing and maintaining reports and dashboards using Microsoft PowerBI is essential, along with the ability to connect to OLAP cubes or other data sources. Candidates should also have experience in writing DAX and MDX expressions for Microsoft Analysis Services, a solid understanding of Microsoft Business Intelligence Architecture, and previous experience as an ETL developer with strong data architecture knowledge. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, as well as excellent teamwork and communication abilities.

Educational Background:
A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary technical knowledge and skills to perform the duties associated with the role effectively.

Experience:
The position requires at least six years of progressive experience in a senior Business Intelligence developer role or a similar capacity. This experience should include a strong focus on various aspects of business intelligence, including SSAS, SSIS, ETLs, Cubes, Power BI, DAX, and MDX. Candidates should have a proven track record of developing and maintaining reports and dashboards, as well as experience with SQL server databases and data warehousing concepts.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is crucial for effective communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders within the organization and for the successful execution of the project.

Additional Notes:
The consultant will be contracted on a full-time basis, working 40 hours per week. They have the flexibility to work either remotely or from the UNRWA Headquarters in Amman. The total remuneration for this position is 4,500 JD, which is equivalent to Area Grade 16, Step
