Interns will learn about the cultivation and stewardship of mid-level and major donors through various channels, including in-person events, email communication, and direct mail. This position is designed to provide interns with a comprehensive understanding of donor communication, relationship building, database management, and administrative tasks, all while contributing to the mission of making a difference in the lives of people worldwide.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the internship position include:
  • Communications: Project managing the development of donor communication materials such as proposals, cover letters, and thank-you letters. Providing proofreading and fact-checking support to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
  • Prospect Research: Utilizing prospect research tools to create briefings on mid-level donors and supporting due diligence screening reports to assess potential donor engagement.
  • Database Management: Managing donor records within the donor databases, ensuring that all gifts are accurately reflected and tracked.
  • Stewardship: Assisting in the organization of donor stewardship events and supporting logistics and programming for PPH donor events.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Researching and analyzing data related to fundraising and marketing efforts, pulling information from various sources to evaluate the effectiveness of communication materials.
  • Administration: Providing general administrative support and completing other tasks as requested by team members.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications required for this internship position include:
  • A university degree or a college degree in progress, with at least two years of study completed or a degree completed within the last 24 months. A degree in Communications, Marketing, or International Development is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • The ability to work efficiently under deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of or experience in database entry and management is an asset.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory, while French language skills are considered a strong asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates applying for this internship should have a university degree or a college degree in progress, having completed at least two years of study. Alternatively, candidates who have completed their degree within the last 24 months are also eligible. Additional Notes:
This internship position is not remote and is based in Toronto, Canada. Interns must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application, which includes Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with valid work permits. The internship is full-time, with standard working hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to cover costs related to food and local transportation, with a maximum allowance of $1,812.58 per month for full-time interns.
