Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: creating a monthly work plan; regularly attending the office on agreed days and times in a hybrid work model (both in-person and virtual); reviewing weekly public activity programs; requesting transportation from the UN Mobility system for public event coverage; taking photographs at public events; recording videos during activities; producing videos for UN Guatemala's social media platforms; updating the Flickr storage for UN Guatemala; creating artistic photography for publication purposes; and assisting with live event broadcasts on YouTube. These responsibilities are designed to enhance the visibility and impact of the UN's communication efforts in Guatemala.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a diploma or certificate at the High School level or equivalent. They should have knowledge in communication, advertising, journalism, or audiovisual production. Experience in photography and proficiency in video and photo editing software, as well as relevant AI programs, are essential. Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic course of an undergraduate program (bachelor's degree or equivalent, at a minimum), or (b) be enrolled in or have completed a postgraduate program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, candidates should have completed or be enrolled in a university degree program, either at the undergraduate or postgraduate level, in fields related to communication, media, or a similar discipline. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the principles of effective communication and advocacy within the context of the United Nations.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have some level of experience in photography and the use of video and photo editing software.
