Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will perform a variety of tasks under the supervision of the IT Officer, which may include: assisting with strategic communication and outreach efforts; drafting and editing content for public information materials, including social media posts and website articles; developing content to raise awareness of the United Nations' internal justice system; drafting and editing print publications such as brochures and newsletters; designing and producing presentations and supporting materials for outreach activities; proposing new content for the website and identifying opportunities to reach a wider audience; improving website functionality and e-learning resources; checking the website for broken pages or inconsistencies with UN Web Guidelines; supporting the production of e-learning courses by coordinating with relevant departments; assisting with administrative and substantive support for meetings and conferences, including preparation of background documents and handling logistics; and carrying out other tasks as required. Before completing the internship, interns will prepare a brief report and presentation on their experiences and any potential research papers that may arise from their work.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: they must be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or they must be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Additionally, applicants should be computer literate in standard software applications, with proficiency in Python programming and knowledge of the Drupal platform being desirable. Experience with web scraping, XPath knowledge, and PDF processing is beneficial.
