Job Overview:
The Analyst position within the EBRD’s Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) Banking Team is pivotal in contributing to all phases of the project cycle for investment projects. This includes project origination, structuring, execution, implementation, and monitoring. The Analyst will be responsible for various tasks assigned by the operation leader and senior project team members, which encompass comprehensive due diligence, analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, market assessments, and ensuring compliance with EBRD policies. The role requires active participation in project teams, where the Analyst will support the structuring, drafting, and discussion of internal approval documentation, as well as the effective implementation and monitoring of transactions. The Analyst will also engage in research, data gathering, credit analysis, and financial modeling to support the Bank’s operational objectives and contribute to the successful execution of projects that drive digital transition in EBRD’s Countries of Operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will undertake a variety of duties under the guidance of the operation leader or a senior banker, including:
  • Structuring and Execution: Collaborate with project teams on transactions, conducting thorough research and analysis of market information and financial performance data. Evaluate potential risks associated with projects, analyze financial statements, and prepare financial models and projections. Assist in the preparation of technical cooperation assistance documentation and maintain communication with internal units, clients, and stakeholders. Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks to high standards.
  • Portfolio Monitoring, Value Creation, and Reporting: Participate in the implementation and monitoring of projects, ensuring compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures. Prepare draft monitoring reports with recommendations for corrective actions and assist in the implementation of technical cooperation assignments.
  • Business Development: Support marketing and business development initiatives as required. The Analyst's responsibilities are designed to evolve, allowing for increased complexity and scope based on experience and expertise gained.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in relevant fields. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret financial information and develop financial models. Credit analysis skills are necessary, including familiarity with local and international accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet applications is required, particularly for financial analysis and modeling. Professional qualifications such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA are desirable. A good understanding of relevant systems and processes is expected, along with the ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines under pressure. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory, and proficiency in one or more languages spoken in EBRD’s Countries of Operations is advantageous.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree as a minimum qualification, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of financial transactions and the investment landscape in the TMT sector.

Experience:
Candidates should have relevant experience in the financial industry, ideally from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, development bank, or auditing/financial consulting firm that operates to international standards. Experience in the Telecommunications, Media, and Technology (TMT) sector is considered an advantage, as it provides valuable insights into the specific challenges and opportunities within this industry.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the EBRD. Additionally, having proficiency in one or more languages that are commonly spoken in the EBRD’s Countries of Operations is considered a significant advantage, as it enhances communication with clients and stakeholders in those regions.

Additional Notes:
