Job Overview:

The officer will be responsible for analyzing security threats and risks, compiling detailed reports on trends and situations that could negatively impact operations, and ensuring that information is accurately gathered and communicated to security management. The role requires a proactive approach to security management, including the examination of security-related information, coordination with local authorities and security services, and the planning of field missions to ensure safe program implementation. The Security Officer will also contribute to the development of emergency preparedness plans and provide training to staff on security protocols, thereby fostering a culture of safety within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Security Officer will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting detailed analyses of security threats and risks, compiling accurate reports on security trends, and ensuring effective communication of security information to decision-makers. The officer will examine security-related incidents and events, utilizing local and corporate information management tools to produce comprehensive analyses and reports. Establishing and maintaining liaison with local authorities, security services, and other stakeholders is crucial for facilitating secure access to program implementation. The officer will also coordinate transportation services in alignment with security assessments and operational needs, analyze security assessment reports, and provide detailed recommendations for risk mitigation. Additionally, the Security Officer will advise the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director on security risk management, support the implementation of operational security measures, and ensure compliance with the United Nations Security Management System (UNSMS). The role includes maintaining and managing security equipment, overseeing access control procedures, and developing emergency planning documentation. Training staff on security protocols and assessing training needs will also be part of the responsibilities, along with participating in compliance committees to enhance internal control systems.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of security management principles and practices, with a proven ability to analyze complex security situations and provide actionable recommendations. Languages:
