Job Overview: The Associate position within the Nominee Director Board Practice at EBRD is a pivotal role that focuses on the search and selection of Nominee Directors, as well as their training, reviews, and reporting. The Associate will work closely with the Head of Board Development and Expert Network within the Equity Group, contributing to the professionalization of the Board Practice. This role requires a deep understanding of board and corporate governance, as well as the ability to implement effective talent acquisition strategies to attract diverse and qualified candidates. The Associate will also be responsible for managing various administrative tasks, supporting events and conferences, and ensuring compliance with the Bank's procedures. This position is integral to enhancing the effectiveness of the Board Practice and ensuring that the organization meets its strategic goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities that include: executing end-to-end recruitment activities for Nominee Board Directors, preparing candidate briefs, writing and posting advertisements, conducting screening calls and interviews, managing reference checks, and overseeing the onboarding process for new nominees. Additionally, the Associate will conduct searches for potential new nominee directors and industry experts, build candidate pipelines, and maintain professional relationships to ensure a robust talent pool. The role also involves designing and delivering training programs for Nominee Directors, managing the 360 review process, and organizing the annual conference for the Nominee Director Board Practice. General support functions include managing communication channels, leading ad-hoc projects, and preparing budget calculations and forecasts.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong affinity for the EBRD's development mandate and countries of operations. A Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in a relevant discipline is required, along with a minimum of five years of equivalent experience in board/executive search, HR, or related fields. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of best practices in board and corporate governance, proven project management skills, and the ability to handle multiple workstreams in a multicultural environment. Strong relationship management, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential, as well as a positive attitude and the ability to engage with potential board member candidates. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong computer literacy, and financial acumen are also necessary for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's Degree and/or a Master's Degree in a relevant field. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of board governance and corporate structures, as well as for effectively managing the responsibilities associated with the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in areas such as board/executive search, human resources, or related fields. Candidates should have a proven track record in similar roles, demonstrating their ability to manage recruitment processes, training programs, and event organization effectively. Experience in corporate governance and an understanding of the key drivers of board effectiveness are highly preferred.
