Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is situated within the APLAK regional division of GIZ, which employs over 4,900 staff members and manages more than 350 projects across Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The role involves providing advisory support to the leadership of the division, particularly in strategic decision-making and processes. Interns will be responsible for coordinating and addressing cross-cutting issues within the division, which include strategic inquiries, quality assurance in project implementation, and various planning processes at the divisional, departmental, and country levels. A significant aspect of the role is maintaining continuous communication with various stakeholders both within and outside the division, as well as preparing information related to internal changes and overarching themes in development cooperation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will engage in a variety of tasks, including: supporting ongoing processes for the implementation of corporate strategic measures, such as changes in procurement procedures and evaluation systems, as well as preparing and analyzing key figures at the divisional level; planning and organizing internal events and conferences, such as leadership conferences, information sessions, and meetings; creating and preparing various text formats for internal and external communication on cross-divisional and cross-cutting issues, such as digitalization or gender; conducting research and analyses on various topics relevant to the division; and communicating with different stakeholders within the division and externally.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed a foundational or bachelor's degree in social sciences, particularly in political science, regional studies, economics, business administration, communication science, or a related field. Proficiency in MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams, is essential, along with an affinity for digital tools and topics. The ideal candidate should demonstrate enthusiasm for the Asia-Pacific and Latin America/Caribbean regions, possess a self-directed and results-oriented work ethic, and exhibit strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, creativity, and initiative.

Educational Background:
A completed foundational or bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, political science, regional studies, economics, business administration, or communication science is required for this internship position. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a program that necessitates the completion of an internship or have graduated no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandated, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in the fields relevant to the internship and possess skills that align with the responsibilities outlined. The internship is designed for individuals who are in the early stages of their careers and are looking to gain practical experience in a professional setting.

Languages:
Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Knowledge of Spanish is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's profile for this position.

The internship is available for a duration from January 5, 2026, to July 4, 2026, and can be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis. It is essential that applicants are currently enrolled in a study program that includes an internship component. The monthly remuneration for interns is €2,205.04 (gross).
