Job Overview: The Senior Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Coordinator in the Minas Gerais State. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at facilitating the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and projects. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with private sector entities, civil society, government, and academic institutions to promote socioeconomic integration, particularly for migrants seeking to join the formal labor market in Brazil. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage logistics for events and activities, and a commitment to fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders. The Senior Project Assistant will also be responsible for administrative support, including travel arrangements, reporting, and data collection, ensuring that all project activities are executed efficiently and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide assistance and support to the coordination with private sector entities, civil society, government, and academic institutions to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of assigned programs/projects.
Support outreach activities with private sector actors to promote engagement and collaboration.
Organize and promote events involving private sector, government, and civil society entities to enhance visibility and impact of projects.
Encourage capacity building and training initiatives with private sector stakeholders.
Hold meetings and facilitate discussions with partners to promote the socioeconomic integration of migrants.
Support the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of program/project development and implementation aspects.
Provide administrative support by identifying and tracking follow-up actions, assisting with travel, reporting, data collection, and procurement actions as required.
Collaborate with national counterparts to plan, organize, and manage logistics for various events and activities.
Perform other work-related tasks as required to support project objectives.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma with a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, Social Sciences, Social Communication, Human Resources, Business, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience. A Master’s degree in the mentioned fields is desirable.
Proven experience with social and economic integration projects in partnership with government, civil society, UN, or private sector actors.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Field experience related to migration, refugee, and stateless populations is desirable.
Experience performing administrative tasks and project reporting is essential.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess at least a high school diploma with significant professional experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields such as International Relations, Social Sciences, or Business. A Master’s degree is considered an asset, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in migration and integration projects.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three to five years of relevant professional experience, particularly in social and economic integration projects. Experience in dialogues with the private sector and the ability to manage partnerships effectively is crucial. Familiarity with project reporting and administrative tasks is also required, along with a proven track record of working collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and English is mandatory, both oral and written. A working knowledge of Spanish is considered a distinct advantage, enhancing communication capabilities within diverse contexts and with various stakeholders.
