Job Overview:
The Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the 'Mosty k integraci' project, which is dedicated to the integration of Ukrainian temporary protection holders. This position requires the incumbent to provide methodological support, develop project activities in collaboration with the Head of LHD and Project Management Unit, and assist in the creation of various project-related documents such as concept notes and logical frameworks. The Project Assistant will also be responsible for administrative coordination, which includes liaising with different organizational units and external parties to facilitate project implementation. This role involves monitoring and reporting on the activities of implementing partners, drafting correspondence, and preparing reports and presentations related to IOM activities. The Project Assistant will also assist in organizing meetings and events, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide methodological support for the 'Mosty k integraci' project, focusing on the integration of Ukrainian temporary protection holders.
  • Develop project activities in cooperation with the Head of LHD and Project Management Unit, including the creation of concept notes, project narratives, logical frameworks, and result matrixes.
  • Act as the focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties.
  • Participate in the coordination and monitoring of implementing partners, reporting any non-compliances to the supervisor.
  • Draft correspondence on project issues and prepare various forms of documentation, including reports, briefing notes, graphics, and statistical tables.
  • Assist the Public Information Associate in drafting public information documents, presentations, and reports for internal and external distribution.
  • Support the organization of meetings and events, such as conferences, workshops, and training sessions, in coordination with appropriate colleagues.
  • Liaise with partners and stakeholders as directed by the Head of LMI.
  • Perform any other tasks as required by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience; OR a High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of migration issues, including a good understanding of migration policies, financial instruments, and decision-making mechanisms.
  • Proven experience in project implementation, with knowledge and experience in policy development and research considered an advantage.
  • Experience in conducting professional training and developing educational training materials is also advantageous.
  • Strong analytical thinking, organizational, and communication skills are essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant fields such as Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Law, or a related discipline from an accredited institution. Alternatively, candidates with a High School diploma and five years of relevant professional experience will also be considered.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience if they hold a Bachelor’s degree, or five years if they have a High School diploma. Candidates should have demonstrated experience and knowledge of migration issues, project implementation, and policy development. Experience in conducting training and developing educational materials is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Czech is required, both oral and written. IOM’s official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be evaluated during the selection process, which could include written and/or oral assessments.

Additional Notes:
This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for the Czech Republic will be considered. The appointment will be contingent upon certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, and necessary government authorizations. The selection process may be used to fill similar positions in various duty stations, and recommended candidates will remain eligible for appointment in similar roles for a period of 24 months.
