Job Overview:
The Rehabilitation Technical Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of Humanity & Inclusion's mandate and its 10-year strategy. This position involves providing technical expertise to ensure the quality and impact of rehabilitation projects. The advisor will work closely with the rehabilitation specialist and the program's technical team, offering guidance and support to national rehabilitation officers and physical therapists. The role requires adapting project documentation to align with global rehabilitation standards and contributing to the regular reporting of rehabilitation activities. The advisor will also be responsible for capacity development of national staff through mentoring and training, ensuring that project activities meet internal quality standards and proposing necessary adjustments or improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to rehabilitation projects, ensuring alignment with overall technical frameworks and standards.
  • Offer rehabilitation technical and pedagogical guidance to project managers and field staff.
  • Ensure project activities are implemented according to internal quality and technical standards, proposing adjustments as necessary.
  • Adapt project documentation in accordance with global rehabilitation technical norms and standards.
  • Contribute to the regular reporting of rehabilitation activities, including data collection and analysis.
  • Support capacity development of national rehabilitation staff through assessments, mentoring, and training.
  • Collect elements necessary for capitalization or scientific documentation exercises.
  • Provide reports and reflections on training sessions to contribute to technical learning.
  • Assist in coordinating technical professional development and facilitating a community of practice. 1
  • Conduct technical training for staff as appropriate. 1
  • Represent HI's technical expertise in relevant local networks and with local partners. 1
  • Strengthen referral pathways into existing rehabilitation services and contribute to advocacy messages.

Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience, particularly in emergency humanitarian settings.
  • Experience in supervision and health science pedagogy.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, with the ability to manage stress and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy, which is essential for understanding the technical aspects of rehabilitation and providing appropriate support to patients and staff.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in emergency humanitarian settings. Experience in supervision and health science pedagogy is also necessary to effectively mentor and guide national rehabilitation staff.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.

Additional Notes:
This is a 6-month international contract starting from July 15th, 202
  • The contract includes social coverage adapted to the context of the mission, including unemployment insurance benefits for EU nationals, a pension scheme, and medical coverage with a 50% employee contribution. The salary starts at 2,346€ gross per month, with additional benefits such as a per diem of 604€ net per month, a hardship allowance of 500€ net per month, and 25 paid leave days per year. The position is unaccompanied, and housing will be collectively arranged by HI.
