Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's daily responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at supporting the OHCHR's objectives. Key duties include:
Assisting in the compilation of information for the UN Human Rights Report, ensuring that all data is accurate and relevant.
Drafting and proofreading sections of the report to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
Supporting the development of the report's microsite, ensuring it effectively communicates OHCHR's work and impact.
Aiding in the preparation for the launch and distribution of the report, including organizing events and coordinating logistics.
Engaging in donor communication efforts by drafting social media posts and collaborating with the Communications team on various materials such as videos and web stories.
Performing other related duties as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the team and the organization.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme, applicants must be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) or in a graduate school programme (Master's degree or equivalent) at the time of application. Alternatively, applicants who have completed one of these degrees are also eligible. Preferred fields of study include international relations, business, marketing, journalism, communication, social sciences, or related disciplines. While no prior work experience is required, any previous internships or work experience with the UN, NGOs, or in the private sector will be considered an asset. Candidates should possess skills and knowledge that will benefit the United Nations during their internship.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a relevant academic program, specifically in fields such as international relations, business, marketing, journalism, communication, social sciences, or similar areas.
