Job Overview:
The Intern in Workday, Accounts will play a crucial role in supporting the operations team at WRI India. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn about accounting principles and software, particularly Workday. The intern will be involved in posting accounting entries, preparing financial reports, and testing the new accounting software to ensure it meets the organization's requirements. The role requires collaboration with the Accounting and Finance teams, as well as the Workday team, to support the Accounts Manager in various tasks. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting and software testing within a reputable organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Familiarize with basic accounting principles and the features of accounting software used by the company.
  • Learn and understand the Workday software.
  • Post all accounting entries in Workday for the previous periods.
  • Execute month-end reclassifications and closings for past periods.
  • Prepare Fixed Asset Reports (FAR), Prepaid, and Accruals to understand and close accounts.
  • Generate reports from Workday and analyze them against existing reports from CP.
  • Conduct testing on various scenarios assigned to ensure the software meets defined requirements.
  • Develop test cases based on requirements and specifications.
  • Identify, document, and report any defects or shortcomings in the software. 1
  • Prepare and document the complete process flow and key notes for every module. 1
  • Work closely with the Accounting, Finance, and Workday teams. 1
  • Report and support the Accounts Manager with all Workday-related tasks assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • Proficiency in basic accounting principles and the ability to handle basic accounting entries independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel, and a high level of comfort with technology.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication skills to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong documentation skills with attention to detail and clarity in written content.
  • Familiarity with software products and the ability to translate technical workflows into clear documentation.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and cross-functional team environment.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding accounting principles and practices, which are essential for the role.

Experience:
The position is designed for interns, so prior professional experience is not mandatory. However, familiarity with accounting principles and software is beneficial. The intern should be eager to learn and develop skills in accounting and software testing, making this an ideal opportunity for recent graduates or students pursuing a degree in a related field.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as the role requires excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.

The internship is full-time for a duration of 3 months, with the potential for extension based on performance and organizational needs. The stipend for this position is INR 25,000 per month.
