Job Overview:
The Area Programme Manager for South will play a crucial role in the implementation of holistic and needs-based programs within the NRC Iran mission. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively represent NRC at coordination forums and ensure that programs are aligned with donor standards and compliance requirements. The role involves developing strategies specific to the Area Office and overseeing the technical quality of program implementation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing donor reporting, grant management compliance, and ensuring that contractual commitments are met. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess senior program management experience in a humanitarian or recovery context. Exposure to people management in complex programs is essential, along with expertise in recovery and durable solutions. Familiarity with the complex and volatile context of Iran, particularly in Kerman, is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal, networking, and stakeholder management skills are required, as well as the ability to foster a collaborative environment and build effective teams. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory.
Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required, typically including a degree in social sciences, international development, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized training in humanitarian response or program management may be advantageous.
Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in program management within humanitarian settings, ideally with a focus on recovery and durable solutions. Experience working in complex and volatile contexts, particularly in Iran, will be considered a significant asset. The role requires a proven track record of managing teams and delivering results in challenging environments.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Persian or other local languages would be considered an advantage but is not required.

This position is based in Kerman, Iran, with a contract duration of 12 months. The role involves approximately 40% travel. The position is classified as Grade 9 in NRC’s Salary Scale, which comes with a competitive compensation and benefits package.
