Job Overview: In this role, you will be part of the Victim Connect service, which works with victims of violent crime across Queensland. Your primary responsibility will be to provide case management and a range of specialist supports, both in-person and online, to help victims overcome the impact of violence. This position is a fixed-term contract through to mid-November 2025, and you will be working in a 6-day fortnight schedule, totaling 45.6 hours. As a member of the QLD Programs team, you will report to the Team Leader and play a crucial role in delivering support to victims of domestic violence and sexualized violence. Your work will involve conducting thorough risk and needs assessments within a trauma-informed framework and assisting victims in developing emotional regulation strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities: Your duties will include providing specialist support, psychoeducation, and counselling to victims of violent crime. You will be responsible for offering brief counselling interventions, completing financial assistance applications, and educating victims on court processes. Additionally, you will conduct risk and needs assessments, assist victims in developing emotional regulation strategies, and provide holistic support tailored to their individual needs. You will also be expected to maintain accurate case records and collaborate with other service providers to ensure comprehensive support for victims.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or a relevant Human Services qualification, along with significant experience in a similar role. A thorough understanding of trauma-informed practice is essential, as is experience working within a counselling role or similar. Strong teamwork and communication skills are crucial, as well as a current driver's license and Blue Card. You should also have a suitable space to work from home, as this role involves a hybrid model of both office and home-based service delivery.
