Job Overview:
The Monitoring Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of WFP's programs in the Kaolack and Kédougou regions. Under the general supervision of the Head of the Kaolack Sub-Office, the Monitoring Assistant will be responsible for tracking and reporting on various activities related to nutrition, school feeding, and agricultural production. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that projects are implemented efficiently and effectively. The Monitoring Assistant will collaborate with local partners to gather data, analyze project outcomes, and provide recommendations for improvements. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and report on the implementation of activities related to nutrition, school feeding, and agricultural production in the Kaolack and Kédougou regions.
  • Collaborate with local partners to collect data on project implementation and outcomes.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports to inform decision-making processes.
  • Identify areas for improvement in monitoring processes and propose enhancements.
  • Conduct field visits to assess the effectiveness of programs and gather feedback from beneficiaries.
  • Compile and share key findings and recommendations with relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all monitoring activities are documented and reported in a timely manner.
  • Perform any other related tasks as required by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree (Bachelor's level) in agronomy, community development, nutrition, project management, or related fields. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in agricultural production, nutrition, and school feeding programs, is required. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is necessary, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team environment. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian principles and the mission of WFP.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree (Bac+3) in relevant fields such as agronomy, community development, nutrition, or project management is required. This educational background will provide the necessary theoretical foundation and practical skills needed for effective monitoring and evaluation of WFP's programs.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in areas related to agricultural production, nutrition, and school feeding. Experience in implementing and managing community agricultural cooperatives is considered an advantage. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in similar roles and demonstrating the ability to analyze and interpret program-related issues effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Proficiency in English and local languages such as Wolof, Pulaar, or Manding is considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries.

Additional Notes:
The position is offered under a Special Service Agreement (SSA) for a duration of three months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and budget availability. The role is based in Kédougou, Senegal, and candidates are expected to work full-time.
