Job Overview: The Deputy Field Coordinator for Programs (DFCP) is responsible for leading and supervising the implementation of programs in West and Central Darfur. This role involves supporting the design and implementation of multi-sectoral projects in alignment with SI's annual country strategy and the evolving humanitarian needs in the region. The DFCP will oversee the quality of project implementation through direct management of Program Managers and supervision of local partners. Additionally, the DFCP will assist the Field Coordinator in representing the organization in external meetings. The position faces challenges such as a high volume of activities, the need for support in structuring the Central Darfur office, and access challenges during the rainy season. The initial priorities for the DFCP include leading and supporting Program Managers in planning and implementing activities, aiding in the structuring of the Central Darfur team, and contributing to the development of a multi-year programmatic strategy for both Central and West Darfur.
Duties and Responsibilities: The DFCP will be tasked with the following duties and responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the implementation of programs in West and Central Darfur, ensuring alignment with SI's strategic objectives.
Manage and support Program Managers in their roles, providing guidance and oversight to ensure effective project execution.
Collaborate with local partners to enhance project quality and impact.
Assist in the development and implementation of multi-sectoral projects, focusing on WASH, Shelter/NFI, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security, and Livelihood sectors.
Participate in external meetings and represent SI under the Field Coordinator's delegation.
Address challenges related to access and security, particularly during the rainy season.

Engage in strategic planning and problem-solving to address operational challenges.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as business, international relations, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years in a similar position.
Strong expertise in project management, particularly with portfolios exceeding 4 million euros and managing more than three projects simultaneously.
Multi-sectoral technical knowledge in areas such as WASH, Shelter/NFI, Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA), and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL).
Proven skills in coordination and engagement with external partners.
Proficiency in proposal and report writing.
Conflict sensitivity skills to navigate complex operational environments.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as business, international relations, or a related discipline. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and effectively managing programs in challenging environments.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 0-2 years in a similar role. This experience is crucial for understanding the dynamics of humanitarian response and effectively leading program implementation in the field.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with external stakeholders. Proficiency in Arabic is considered a strong asset, enhancing communication with local communities and partners.

The role is based in Geneina, Sudan, which presents unique living conditions and security challenges. The salary for this position starts at EUR 2,475 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a break system, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. Living conditions in Geneina include simple guest house accommodations with basic amenities, limited social life, and a curfew at 8 PM.
