The coordinator will ensure that all activities are executed in a timely manner and meet high-quality standards. This role involves overseeing the support functions of satellite offices in Sudan, ensuring that the projects target the most vulnerable beneficiaries, and exploring new methods to enhance assistance. The coordinator will also be responsible for capacity building among project officers, assistants, and field monitors, while maintaining collaboration with local authorities and stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The LFS Coordinator will supervise the implementation of all LFS activities, ensuring alignment with NRC technical guidelines and donor regulations. Responsibilities include developing detailed monthly implementation plans, reviewing achievements and constraints weekly, and providing feedback to the team. The coordinator will guide field staff daily, ensuring smooth operations across finance, logistics, HR, and administration. They will consolidate weekly and monthly progress reports, participate in drafting donor reports, and identify training needs for LFS teams and partners. Additionally, the coordinator will lead stakeholder sensitization efforts and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, ensuring safe records of all project deliveries and representing NRC at local meetings.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agro-economy, economy, social sciences, development studies, or a related field. A proven track record of at least three years of experience implementing LFS interventions in humanitarian or recovery contexts is required, along with two years of experience in team and project management. Previous experience in complex and volatile environments is essential, as well as documented results related to the position's responsibilities. Proficiency in both English and Arabic is necessary for effective communication.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as agriculture, agro-economy, economy, social sciences, or development studies. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of livelihood and food security interventions in humanitarian settings.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in implementing livelihood and food security interventions within humanitarian or recovery contexts. Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of experience in managing teams and projects, demonstrating the ability to lead and coordinate effectively in challenging environments.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, as effective communication with diverse stakeholders is essential. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
