Job Overview:
The Project Associate (PA) will play a crucial role in providing administrative and monitoring support for the implementation of two significant projects aimed at enhancing climate resilience and sustainable agricultural practices in Dominica. The first project focuses on 'Enhancing Smart Sustainable Agriculture and Agro-Processing for Climate Resilience in Dominica: Phase 1', which aims to address challenges in the agricultural sector by developing gender-responsive mitigation and adaptation measures. This project will empower local vegetable farmers, improve food and water security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and establish Agro-Processing Technology Centers to promote economic growth and resilience. The second project, 'Strengthening Community Resilience within Kalinago Territory', aims to boost agricultural production, implement community reforestation programs, and develop a tourism strategy to create new income opportunities. The PA will work closely with the Project Analyst to ensure effective project planning, implementation, and monitoring, while also supporting gender equality initiatives throughout the projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Associate will be responsible for a wide range of duties including providing high-quality project and administrative support, coordinating project activities, and ensuring compliance with UNDP policies. Key responsibilities include compiling and summarizing project information, drafting budgets and proposals, ensuring quality delivery by consultants and partners, and maintaining project records. The PA will also support partnerships and resource mobilization efforts, maintain communication with stakeholders, and assist in monitoring and evaluating project progress. Additional responsibilities include organizing project events, managing project budgets, preparing reports, and supporting knowledge sharing and capacity building activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma, with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, accounting, or a related field being preferred but not mandatory. The position requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with a High School diploma or 3 years with a Bachelor’s degree in administrative, operational, or financial support roles. Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is essential, along with excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience in planning workshops, providing program support, and managing records is also desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include a High School Diploma as a minimum qualification. A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, accounting, or a related field will be considered an asset but is not mandatory for applicants.

Experience:
The role requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of 6 years in relevant administrative, operational, or financial support roles for candidates with a High School diploma, or 3 years for those with a Bachelor’s degree.
