Job Overview:
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting plans that align with WFP's corporate standards. The incumbent will be responsible for generating quality evidence about the lives of beneficiaries and informing the design and implementation of policies, strategies, and programs. This position requires coordination of monitoring activities, support for decentralized evaluations, and thematic/mid-term evaluations. The officer will work under the supervision of the M&E Programme Officer, monitoring project activities in the country office and supporting various initiatives as requested. The role is vital in positioning WFP as a reliable partner for governments in developing monitoring and evaluation strategies, ensuring that all activities are conducted with a focus on gender, equity, disability, protection, human rights, and inclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer include implementing WFP corporate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) standards, identifying evidence needs related to monitoring, maintaining relationships with beneficiary communities and partners, and ensuring the integration of gender and inclusion concerns into all M&E work. The officer will coordinate with partner institutions to consolidate activity site information, prepare monthly monitoring plans, and ensure that activity sites are visited quarterly. Responsibilities also include designing questionnaires and data analysis plans, conducting various monitoring activities, verifying and analyzing monitoring data, producing regular reports, and strengthening monitoring capacity for WFP Field Monitors and partners. The officer will represent WFP in inter-agency meetings and perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess proven knowledge and skills in Monitoring and Evaluation, with experience working with technical teams in areas such as nutrition and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security. The position requires expertise in digital data collection tools, strong report writing, and analytical skills. The officer should have the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders and demonstrate a commitment to WFP's values and mission.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary school education, along with a post-secondary certificate in a related functional area. A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the role.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least six years of relevant experience in program design, implementation, or monitoring, particularly in development or community engagement contexts. Experience in food security, nutrition, or rural livelihoods is preferred, as it aligns with WFP's mission and operational focus.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in the English language is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries.

Additional Notes:
This position is a Short Term, Full Time role under a Service Contract Level 6 (SC 6) for a duration of 12 months, with eligibility for extension based on performance and operational requirements. The duty station is Bridgetown, Barbados, and the selected candidate may be required to travel regionally and internationally to support missions and emergency responses. The compensation package includes a competitive salary starting at BBD $5741.34 per month, up to 30 days of annual leave, pension contributions, health and life insurance, and various learning and development opportunities.
