Job Overview:
The Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Greek authorities by providing targeted reception support and critical integration services to facilitate a smooth transition into the national integration program, specifically the HELIOS1+ initiative implemented by IOM. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator and the Senior Operations Assistant, contributing to the effective implementation of project activities. This position requires maintaining accurate records of deliverables, managing non-food items (NFIs), and assisting beneficiaries during their arrival and integration process. The Project Assistant will also be responsible for administrative tasks related to the project, ensuring timely documentation and communication with various stakeholders involved in the integration process.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Social or Humanitarian Sciences from an accredited academic institution, which is recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Alternatively, a high school degree or certificate combined with three years of relevant work experience is acceptable. The educational background should reflect a strong foundation in social sciences or humanitarian work, equipping the candidate with the necessary knowledge and skills to support the integration of beneficiaries effectively.
Experience:
The position requires at least two years of relevant working experience for candidates with a university degree, or three years for those with a high school diploma. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, particularly in contexts involving direct assistance to migrants and refugees. Familiarity with working in multi-cultural environments is considered an advantage, as is experience working with children. The candidate should demonstrate a capacity for effective communication and collaboration in diverse settings.
Languages:
Fluency in Greek is mandatory, along with a certified working knowledge of English or French, both oral and written. Proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly IOM's official languages (English, French, and Spanish), is considered beneficial and may enhance the candidate's profile.

- Supporting the implementation of project activities as directed by the Project Coordinator and Senior Operations Assistant.
- Keeping detailed records of all deliverables completed at the field level and ensuring timely submission of documentation to the coordination unit.
- Maintaining inventory records of NFIs stored and identifying potential shortages, coordinating with the unit for necessary purchases.
- Facilitating the arrival and first reception process for beneficiaries, escorting them to accommodation centers.
- Assisting camp management authorities during the arrival of beneficiaries and distributing basic goods/NFIs as needed.
- Carrying out administrative tasks related to the project, including maintaining expense documentation.
- Monitoring documentation for the use of IOM rented vehicles and ensuring timely submission of required documents.
- Assisting beneficiaries with escorting services to public entities or other locations related to their integration.
- Liaising with management authorities and site actors to achieve project operational objectives. 1
- Keeping records of transportation routes conducted by subcontracted vendors and providing necessary documentation. 1
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisors.
Required Qualifications:
