Job Overview: The position of Consultor/a Jurídico/a for the 'Planta procesadora de plátano' involves providing legal and administrative support for the formalization of a commercial entity focused on banana processing. The consultant will be responsible for developing a legal framework, conducting participatory research, and facilitating community engagement to establish a sustainable production and management model. This role is crucial for ensuring that the business aligns with local political, social, and economic strategies while enhancing community involvement and governance. Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:
Collaborating with governmental entities, private sector partners, UN agencies, and community representatives to define a business model for the banana processing plant.
Ensuring effective community participation in the governance structure, particularly involving the Councils of Communities represented on the Board of Directors.
Facilitating workshops and discussions to build a collaborative business model that respects cultural contexts and promotes community empowerment.
Providing legal advice on governance, management, and representation issues to local stakeholders, including Afro-descendant organizations.
Drafting and revising the company's bylaws to ensure compliance with legal standards and alignment with the business's mission and vision.
Managing the registration of the business with the Chamber of Commerce and other relevant authorities to secure legal recognition.
Developing a Strategic Operational Plan that outlines legal guidelines for the business in the short, medium, and long term.
Integrating gender considerations into the business model, ensuring women's roles are prioritized in decision-making processes.
Completing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor that align with the nature of the consultancy.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in legal sciences or related fields. They should have a minimum of seven years of proven professional experience in advising on business generation processes within legal and governance frameworks, particularly with Afro-descendant communities and Councils of Communities. Experience in supporting the development of community enterprises and knowledge of governance and participatory models is highly desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and experience in developing training methodologies are also required. Familiarity with working in ethnic communities, including indigenous and Afro-Colombian groups, is essential.
Educational Background: A university degree in legal sciences or a related field is mandatory for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the legal frameworks and governance structures necessary for the successful establishment and operation of the banana processing plant.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience, excluding internships or academic projects. The consultant will be responsible for covering transportation, accommodation, and food expenses incurred while fulfilling the responsibilities outlined in the consultancy agreement. The position is classified at the SSA - L7 level, and the consultant will report directly to the Head of the Field Office in Medellín.
