Job Overview:
The Technical Account Manager (TAM) for Mail Products and Services will play a crucial role in the Postal Technology Centre Directorate (DCTP) of the UPU. This position involves acting as the primary contact for users of the Mail Products and Services portfolio, focusing on software development projects. The incumbent will be responsible for collecting and analyzing business requirements, creating detailed functional specifications, and managing project costs and timelines. The role requires close collaboration with various teams, including software development, testing, and technical writing, to ensure successful project execution. The TAM will also be involved in promoting the Mail Products and Services portfolio among UPU members and participating in regional events as necessary. This position demands a proactive approach to project management and a commitment to delivering high-quality results that meet the expectations of technical accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong understanding of managing a portfolio of Technical Accounts, preferably in an international context. Knowledge of software product management, including design and release planning, is advantageous. Experience in the postal or customs sector is desirable. Project management skills are essential, along with the ability to quickly acquire functional knowledge of large software applications and product lines. Familiarity with process and software architecture modeling tools (e.g., UML, BPMN) is a plus, as is basic knowledge of information system security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security.
Educational Background:
A first-level university degree (BSc or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the technical aspects of software development and project management within the postal sector.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis for software development is required. This experience should include transforming business requirements into functional designs, demonstrating a strong capability in managing software projects and technical accounts effectively.
Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary working language of the UPU. Knowledge of French is considered an advantage, given that French is the official language of the UPU and is used in various communications and documentation.
Additional Notes:
The position offers a monthly salary of 7,105 CHF (net of tax) and is classified as a non-core post, which means it does not include certain international benefits such as home leave or education grants. The contract is for three years, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability. The selected candidate will participate in the UPU Provident Scheme and will be insured against sickness and accidents. - Collect and analyze business requirements to develop detailed functional specifications and designs.
- Evaluate project costs, define deliverables and deadlines, and prepare offers for Technical Accounts after review by the Account Relationships Coordinator.
- Maintain the Customer Relations Management (CRM) system database for all Technical Accounts under supervision.
- Manage software development projects with designated operators, implementing corrective measures and updating plans as necessary.
- Monitor project quality to ensure deliverables meet expectations and maintain high standards.
- Collaborate with software development, testing, and technical writing teams to set up and manage software development projects alongside the Project Management Office (PMO).
- Present and promote the Mail Products and Services portfolio to UPU members, participating in regional events when required.
- Work with team members to manage 2nd level support and liaise with development or network teams for 3rd level support, logging change requests and assessing priorities.
