The World Health Organization (WHO) Asia Pacific Centre for Environment and Health in the Western Pacific Region (ACE) is a specialized office of the WHO that focuses on climate, environment, and health. Job Overview:
The primary objective of this consultancy is to provide project management support for the planning, coordination, and delivery of two significant meetings: the Singapore CRESH meeting and the Seoul Commissioners’ Meeting, both scheduled for September 202
  • The consultant will collaborate closely with the organizing committee to ensure that these events are executed smoothly, on time, and in alignment with the project goals. The role involves developing detailed project plans, managing logistics, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring effective communication throughout the planning and execution phases. The consultant will also be responsible for preparing progress reports and final evaluations of the events, contributing to the overall success of the meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop a comprehensive project framework and detailed project plan, including timelines, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Support WHO/ACE in executing at least two events on regional and international platforms.
  • Provide logistical, partnership, and communications support to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Prepare internal documents such as meeting schedules, agendas, discussion points, and presentation slides.
  • Deliver monthly progress reports summarizing completed and upcoming tasks, along with an updated timeline and task tracker.
  • Document meeting minutes from organizing committee meetings.
  • Prepare final reports detailing outcomes and recommendations for future projects, including stakeholder feedback and lessons learned.
  • Assist in developing meeting agendas aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, travel arrangements, and catering services. 1
  • Manage timelines and deadlines to ensure all deliverables are met. 1
  • Facilitate communication among project team members and stakeholders. 1
  • Support budgeting and financial tracking for the events, ensuring expenses remain within approved limits. 1
  • Prepare post-event reports with recommendations for future improvements. 1
  • Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies, providing real-time problem-solving support during the meetings.

Required Qualifications:
  • A university degree in public health, environmental health, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of three years of work experience in public health and project management within an international context.
  • Strong knowledge in planning, implementing, and monitoring complex programs, particularly in public health, policy, or environmental health topics.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in public health, environmental health, or a related field from an accredited university. The degree should be recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in public health and project management, particularly in an international environment. This experience should include managing complex programs and events related to health and environmental issues.

Languages:
Expert knowledge of English is mandatory, with proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as requirements.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is expected to last for six months, from May to November 2025, with a remuneration range of USD 3,955 to USD 6,000 per month. The consultant will work on-site at the WHO ACE office in Seoul, Republic of Korea, and may be required to travel for the events.
