Job Overview:
The position of Praktikant*in in der Internen Kommunikation und Beratung is designed for individuals who are eager to contribute to the internal communication and consulting efforts of GIZ. The intern will be involved in implementing information and dialogue offerings from the management, keeping employees and leaders informed about relevant corporate topics, and enhancing identification with GIZ. The role also includes supporting colleagues with communication issues and advising, networking, and qualifying communicators worldwide. This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment focused on international cooperation and communication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for various tasks including: assisting in the research, editing, and coordination of internal news, short messages, and (video) contributions related to GIZ's diverse topics; updating, maintaining, and expanding the Integrated Digital Applications (IDA) as GIZ's social intranet; helping in the development and implementation of dialogue formats and events between management, leaders, and employees; supporting the consulting portal, which addresses all communication-related inquiries, including responding to emails and phone inquiries, statistical evaluation of inquiries, and preparing results; managing the online community for GIZ communicators, including monitoring new contributions, responding to inquiries, and writing original posts; organizing the regular digital exchange format "Speed Academy," which involves topic selection, scheduling, moderation, and documentation.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a degree in media or communication sciences, journalism, or a comparable field with a completed basic study. A strong command of language and initial editorial experience across various media formats—from conception to product—is essential. A digital mindset and familiarity with common formats, applications, and apps for digital communication are required. Experience in event management and/or monitoring communication measures is advantageous. The ideal candidate should demonstrate an efficient and reliable work ethic, a willingness to take responsibility, and the ability to work well in a team. A passion for international cooperation and an interest in the content and practices of corporate communication are also important, along with knowledge of the requirements for employee communication and consulting formats.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a completed basic study in media or communication sciences, journalism, or a related field. The internship is only possible if the candidate is currently enrolled in a program that requires an internship or if their degree was obtained no more than six months prior to the start of the internship.
Experience:
The position requires initial editorial experience in various media forms, which can include internships or relevant projects. Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms is also necessary, as well as any experience in event management or communication monitoring being considered a plus.
Languages:
Fluency in German at a native level is mandatory, along with very good English language skills. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not explicitly required for this position.

- The monthly intern compensation is €2,205.04 (gross).
