Job Overview: The Partnerships Associate will work under the guidance of the Partnership Specialist to support business acquisition and partnerships for the Madagascar office. This role involves researching potential partnership opportunities, staying informed about social, economic, and political trends in Madagascar, and assisting in the drafting of new projects and programs. The incumbent will also engage in outreach to current and potential partners, coordinate meetings, and produce high-quality documentation. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure coherent interactions and effective project development, as well as contributing to knowledge management and innovation within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Partnerships Development: Research potential partnership opportunities, monitor trends in Madagascar, support donor mapping, draft project documents, engage with partners, coordinate meetings, and prepare background materials for senior management.
Donor Reporting: Assist in drafting donor reports as required.
Knowledge Management and Innovation: Implement standards and tools for effective partnership management, contribute to best practices dissemination, and provide feedback on existing systems to enhance operational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a First University Degree (Bachelor’s) in relevant fields such as international affairs, business administration, or social sciences, with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Knowledge of UN policies and prior experience in international organizations is highly desirable. Proficiency in computer software related to the position is required, along with experience in G-Suite applications.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in disciplines relevant to international development assistance is preferred. A High School Diploma is acceptable with extensive relevant experience. Educational qualifications should align with the responsibilities of the role, emphasizing the importance of a solid foundation in social sciences or related fields.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in partnerships, program, project management, or reporting is required. Experience in Madagascar or the surrounding region is essential, along with familiarity with UN operations and policies. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in relevant software and platforms, particularly those related to project management and reporting.
Languages: Full working knowledge of English and French is essential for this position. Additionally, a working knowledge of a local language is highly desirable, as it can facilitate better communication and engagement with local partners and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The contract type is ICA, with a level of LICA 6 and an ongoing duration subject to organizational requirements and satisfactory performance.
