Job Overview:
The position of Individual Contractor Programme Management Analyst involves providing continuous support to program and project development. This includes conducting research, data collection, and analysis to support ongoing and new initiatives. The incumbent will also support the effective coordination and administrative management of program activities to facilitate smooth implementation and informed decision-making. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Contractor Programme Management Analyst include assisting in the coordination of program/project planning and preparation, monitoring the status of proposals, and ensuring that project documents are completed and submitted for approval. The incumbent will assist in the preparation and analysis of program/project proposals, interpret budget guidelines, and review submissions to ensure all requisite information is included. They will research and collect information on science, technology, and innovation, including gender dimensions, and provide assistance on reporting requirements. The role also involves serving as a focal point for coordination and monitoring of program/project implementation activities, liaising with various organizational units, and preparing standard terms of reference. The analyst will maintain and update files and databases, draft correspondence related to program/project administration, and assist in the development of annual work plans and communication activities. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include a university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, international development, social sciences, political sciences, engineering, or related areas. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in program and/or project operations and administration, technical cooperation, or a related area is required, preferably in the international development sector or with international organizations. Experience with administrative policies and procedures in international organizations is desirable, as is familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Umoja/SAP. Additionally, experience in the United Nations Common System or similar international organizations is desirable, along with at least one year of experience in data analytics or a related area.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as business or public administration, international development, social sciences, political sciences, engineering, or related areas. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of program management and administration within the context of international organizations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in program and/or project operations and administration, technical cooperation, or a related area. This experience should preferably be within the international development sector or with international organizations, providing the candidate with a solid understanding of the operational frameworks and challenges faced in such environments. Additional experience in administrative policies and procedures within international organizations is also desirable, as is familiarity with ERP systems and data analytics.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of French is considered desirable, which would enhance communication and collaboration within the UN framework, given that French is also a working language of the organization.
