Job Overview:
The Livelihood and Food Security Coordinator is responsible for implementing projects related to Livelihood and Food Security under the supervision of the Area South. This role involves providing input and ideas to the LFS specialist and Area Manager regarding project design and development. The coordinator will manage the portfolio of Livelihood & Food Security projects, ensuring adherence to proposals, strategies, and donor requirements. The position requires conducting regular needs assessments, monitoring and evaluation visits, and preparing progress reports. The coordinator will also explore partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, and other stakeholders to enhance project implementation and ensure timely procurement and distribution of materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Livelihood and Food Security Coordinator will coordinate and implement the portfolio of Livelihood & Food Security projects, including managing all phases of the project life cycle. Responsibilities include planning and following up on project activities, conducting field assessments, monitoring market prices, and managing cash card distributions. The coordinator will hold regular meetings with beneficiaries and local authorities, break down annual operational plans into actionable weekly and monthly plans, and contribute to identifying new projects and areas of intervention. The role also involves coordinating with other NRC programs and support units, attending technical meetings, and performing additional tasks as delegated by the area manager.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant working experience in business planning, MSME management, or vocational training, preferably in the humanitarian sector. Experience in project planning, coordination, resource planning, and report writing is essential. Familiarity with cash assistance programs is advantageous. A university bachelor's degree in social sciences, economics, development, or business studies is required. Knowledge of the refugee context in Iran is a plus, along with the ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences relevant to economy, development, sociological studies, or business studies such as entrepreneurship, marketing, business administration, or industrial management/engineering is required for this position. Candidates should have a solid educational foundation that supports their understanding of the humanitarian sector and the specific challenges faced by displaced populations.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in roles related to business planning, management, or vocational training, particularly within the humanitarian context. Experience in project planning, stakeholder coordination, and resource management is crucial. Familiarity with cash assistance programs and community empowerment initiatives is also beneficial.
Languages:
Proficiency in English and Farsi is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an advantage, particularly those relevant to the local context and the populations served by NRC.
Additional Notes:
The contract for this position includes a 3-month probation period with the possibility of extension. The salary will be based on NRC's grade structure, with this position classified as grade 7 within the organizational hierarchy. The duty station is in Kerman, Iran, with approximately 80% of the role involving field visits to other provinces where NRC operates, including Hormozgan, Sistan & Balouchestan, and Yazd.
