Job Overview: The primary purpose of the Driver role is to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of DRC staff during working hours. This includes driving DRC personnel and transporting equipment and supplies to various locations as needed. Duties and Responsibilities: The Driver will be responsible for the following duties: transporting authorized DRC personnel and cargo to designated locations; ensuring the safety and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of passengers and their belongings during transit; adhering to DRC’s safe driving rules; assisting passengers with loading and unloading their belongings; maintaining a complete vehicle logbook and ensuring passenger signatures for each trip; monitoring fuel levels and refueling the vehicle as necessary; ensuring that the vehicle is clean and presentable at all times; conducting daily checks on the vehicle’s condition, including engine oil, brake oil, tire pressure, and other essential fluids; ensuring all vehicle equipment and tools are clean and in place; performing daily inspections of DRC-rented vehicles as requested; assisting with procurement and supply requisitions for office and project equipment; and executing any other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor. The Driver must also represent DRC positively and uphold the organization’s Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a valid driving license (Category B) and have at least three years of proven driving experience in a similar role, preferably within NGOs or INGOs. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of the local area and technical expertise in basic vehicle repairs. Punctuality, adherence to rules and procedures, and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding work-related information are essential. Knowledge of logistics and procurement processes is also required. Fluency in Turkish is mandatory, while basic knowledge of English and/or Arabic is desirable.
