Job Overview:
As a Digital Media Associate at WRI Europe, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization's online presence and engagement through effective social media and marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing strategies. Reporting to the Head of Communications, your primary responsibilities will include managing WRI Europe's social media channels, developing engaging digital content, and ensuring that equity is integrated into all communications efforts. You will be expected to create and implement a proactive social media plan, engage with key audiences, and leverage WRI's brand and expertise to inform and encourage audiences about the organization's work. This position requires a strong understanding of digital communications and the ability to create compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Online Communications Content Development and Online Outreach (65%): - Manage and grow WRI Europe’s social media channels, including LinkedIn and Instagram, to drive engagement and reach. - Develop and implement a proactive social media plan, ensuring relevant and timely content delivery. - Support the online media profile of the Vice-President for WRI Europe, particularly on LinkedIn. - Engage with key audiences and influencers to secure high levels of engagement and responsiveness. - Strategize around new channels, advertisements, and online campaigns, creating a strong editorial calendar. - Create engaging content that informs and encourages audiences about WRI's work, adapting global content for European audiences.
  • Other Materials (Audiovisual) and Help with Collateral Development (25%): - Develop video and audiovisual products related to WRI’s strategies and priorities. - Co-produce scripts, manage content creation, and work with vendors for execution. - Assist with collateral development, including brochures and flyers, as needed.
  • Stakeholder Marketing (10%): - Create targeted email campaigns for specific occasions and audiences. - Develop compelling templates for stakeholder outreach and advise on database management techniques.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, media, public relations, creative design, languages, or arts.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a marketing, social media, or communications environment.
- Excellent command of digital communications and marketing tools and strategies.
- Demonstrable knowledge of best practices for social media work and integrated social media strategies.
- Experience generating high levels of engagement on platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Proficient in technologies such as InDesign, Adobe, WordPress, and Canva.
- Familiarity with video editing tools such as Buffer, Premiere, and Final Cut Pro is a plus.
- Knowledge of email marketing technologies like MailChimp, Pardot, and Salesforce is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, journalism, marketing, media, public relations, creative design, languages, or arts. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the role of Digital Media Associate.

Experience:
The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in a marketing, social media, or communications environment. Candidates should have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective digital marketing strategies, managing social media channels, and creating engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. Experience in generating high levels of engagement on social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram, is crucial. Additionally, familiarity with video production and editing, as well as email marketing technologies, will be beneficial.

Languages:
Proficiency in verbal and written English is mandatory for this position. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in English, as it is the primary language used for all communications within the organization and with external stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time maternity cover position from June 2025 until January 2026, with the possibility of part-time options of 32 or 36 hours per week. The position is hybrid, requiring 8 days per month in the office, and candidates can be based in either The Hague or London. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission, as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position. The potential salary for this role is €49,000 – €58,000 if based in the Netherlands, or £38,000 - £45,000 if based in the UK, with compensation commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
