Job Overview: The Driver position is crucial for the effective transportation of goods, supplies, and personnel within the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all transportation needs are met efficiently and safely. This role requires a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance and a commitment to following all safety regulations. The driver will work closely with the Senior Administrative Assistant and the transport unit to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner. The position demands a high level of responsibility, as the driver will be entrusted with the care of the vehicle and the safety of passengers. The role also involves regular communication with the transport unit and adherence to established protocols for reporting and documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Driver include but are not limited to: driving vehicles for the transportation of goods, supplies, and personnel; picking up and delivering materials as requested; loading and unloading goods; delivering and collecting mail and documents; maintaining the assigned vehicle, including conducting daily inspections and performing minor repairs; certifying repairs needed on the vehicle; ensuring cleanliness of the vehicle; recording and reporting data related to vehicle use; completing daily trip tickets; reporting to the supervisor at the end of each day; monitoring transport radio channels; ensuring compliance with rules and regulations in case of accidents; and reporting any incidents immediately to the appropriate authorities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education and hold a valid driving license in category B. A minimum of four years of driving experience is required, along with a clean driving record. Candidates should possess established skills in minor vehicle repair and have a good command of the English language as well as local languages. The ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated awareness of gender sensitivity are also essential qualifications for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). This foundational education is necessary to ensure that candidates have the basic skills and knowledge required for the responsibilities of the driver role.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of four years of relevant driving experience. This experience should include a proven track record of safe driving and familiarity with vehicle maintenance and minor repairs. Experience in a multicultural environment is also beneficial, as the OSCE Mission operates with a diverse team.
Languages: A good command of the English language is mandatory for this position, as well as proficiency in local languages. This linguistic capability is essential for effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders within the mission.

Social benefits include participation in the OSCE group medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund. The appointment is normally made at step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale, with the possibility of a higher step being approved under specific conditions.
